We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Governance Officer to join the River Clyde Homes Group and play a key role in supporting effective governance across the organisation. This is a pivotal role ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, supporting Board and Committee functions, and driving continuous improvement in governance practices.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Head of Corporate Services to deliver all governance functions effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and regulatory requirements, including submissions to the Scottish Housing Regulator.
  • Facilitate Board and Committee meetings, including preparing reports, distributing papers, and taking accurate minutes.
  • Maintain governance documentation and oversee Board administration, including recruitment and appraisals.
  • Act as a key contact for stakeholders such as elected representatives, regulators, and customers.
  • Oversee implementation of the Internal Audit programme and monitor completion of actions.
  • Contribute to the development and review of governance policies and strategies.
  • Attend sector conferences and forums to enhance governance practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a governance role, including minute-taking at Board/Committee meetings.
  • Strong knowledge of Scottish housing sector governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
  • IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and governance platforms.
  • Relevant degree or HND (desirable); CIH qualification (desirable).
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to attend evening meetings.
